Biographies

In 2008, Kay set up MCCP THE PLANNING AGENCY as a new way for clients to have access to the best in class independent strategy and to really game change their brands trajectory. 6 years later, MCCP THE PLANNING AGENCY is a real force in the industry as a leading specialist strategy group and has attracted both local and global clients such as An Post, Heineken, Smurfit Kappa, Tourism Ireland, Muller, Kepak/Rustlers & Big AL's UK, Primark, and RaboDirect amongst others.

As a thought leader, Kay is regularly asked to speak at key marketing & industry events and conferences. She was selected to speak at Cannes in 2014 on the Future of Strategy.

Kay believes that when demand is tight, brands need to reinvent themselves to become re-relevant, but with a fresh set of lens and must embrace creativity that goes well beyond traditional forms to include innovation and more inventive positioning's and stories to involve their audiences.

Kay brings twenty two years experience in leading the development of effective consumer led brand strategies. She had a senior marketing roles at Diageo, Executive board positions at Universal McCann Globally, EMEA, Head of Strategy and Deputy MD at McCanns. She has expertise in pioneering both brand models and insight programmes for communications planning at agency network level.

She has led the strategy for creative brand work that has won numerous awards including 2 Euro Effies for work on Tourism Ireland International and Xbox in EMEA, ADFX and AIM awards for Unilever, Sprite & Diet Coke.

Shane is the Strategic Planning Director at MCCP and leads strategy on Heineken, Meteor, Pernod Ricard, The National Cancer Screening Service, Tourism Ireland , Connacht Rugby, Irish Ferries and Rabobank.

Shane has also led highly innovative strategic research projects for Red Bull, Rustlers (UK), UNICEF and Failte Ireland, as well as running NPD and innovation programmes for Meteor and Big Als. Shane led the development of an insight training programme for Smurfit Kappa globally. Shane leads a dynamic planning team in MCCP to ensure the rigour and clarity of brilliant planning is brought to every piece of work MCCP take on.

Prior to MCCP, Shane worked with a number of leading agencies including McCann Erickson, and Ogilvy & Mather, where he led key strategies..

Shane has a proven ability to recognise where and how a brand can really resonate at a cultural level and he displays a passion and commitment in bringing this through to many consumer touch-points.

Shane graduated from UCD with an Honours Degree in Psychology   before  completing an MSc in Advertising at  Dublin Institute of Technology.
