What AAI does
- We work to represent and defend the legitimate, strategic, non-competitive interests of responsible advertisers and marketers in dealing with Government, the media, business and consumer groups, as well as other bodies of commercial or public interest.
- We encourage the raising of standards and promote self-regulation in all communication channels, and work with various organisations and groups to develop positive codes of practise.
- We liaise with Government Departments and other key audiences on the role, benefits and importance of commercial communications in modern societies.
- We work to ensure that our members can promote their goods and services without undue restraint or interference in the form of excessive legislative intervention or unreasonable commercial restrictions.
- Through our membership and active involvement with the World Federation of Advertisers we ensure that Irish advertisers have an input to relevant legislation at a European level.
- We harness the collective power and influence of our members to address, question and interact with Government and other key audiences at all levels.
- We provide advice, assistance and support services to our Members in respect of advertising trends and issues.
- We inform our members about the latest advocacy and advertising news.
- We work with and form strategic alliances with other Organisations and Associations in addressing issues of general concern in the area of advertising and marketing communications.
- We are actively involved, in the best interests of our Members, in the organisations commissioning and operating joint industry research programmes for virtually all media.
- We provide forums for advertisers to meet and exchange ideas as part of a learning experience.
- We link members through events, debate and working groups.
- We work closely with a range of specialist organisations monitoring readership and listenership.
