- The only organisation solely focussed on representing and furthering the interests of advertisers in Ireland and speaking on their behalf on all aspects of commercial communications.
- The authoritative voice of the industry on all issues of concern to advertisers, both at a national and EU level - covering restrictive legislation, consumer issues, media inflation, industry research etc.
- In existence since 1951, we now represent Members not only on advertising issues, but as marketing activities became more and more integrated, we are involved in virtually all forms of commercial communications.
- Representative of Ireland's diverse industry sectors both manufacturing and service. Membership of AAI is Corporate, with up to two individuals nominated to represent their organisation within AAI.
- A driving force in the establishment and maintenance of self-regulation in Ireland. Effective self-regulation is the credible alternative to legislative control of advertising and marketing and to this end we have lead the establishment and are on the board of Central Copy Clearance Ireland which is a specialist service provided to advertisers for pre-vetting of their ads to ensure compliance with agreed codes.
- AAI also represents advertisers on the board of the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland as well as being actively involved with a wide range of other regulatory bodes and interest groups such as the Broadcasting Commission, The Alcohol Marketing Communications Monitoring Body, The Dept. of Health and Children and many others.
- AAI is a member of the World Federation of Advertisers (www.wfanet.org )
